MOUD: Medications for Opioid Use Disorder
Background
The initial training was created in 2005, at Albert Einstein School of Medicine in New York, for MOUD patients by MOUD patients; meant to empower, inspire, and synergize recovery with knowledge and education that has not traditionally been offered to MOUD populations.
As of 2017, Texas Health and Human Services Commission integrated this curriculum as part of the recovery initiatives to reduce negative opioid-related mortality and morbidity. The training can be updated and adapted specifically for use in different states and is the only intensive educational training material being offered directly to people utilizing MOUD.
Recovery + MOUD
We work with patients and MOUD program staff in Texas to develop their own unique recovery community culture, utilizing patient-lead mutual-aid self help, leadership development, and education about medication-assisted treatment and recovery. We provide all materials, stipends for patients' time, and ongoing support after the training.
In-person and remote options
While we prefer in-person, we do have the ability to offer the training online.
